THAKARA

Thakara is a Malayalam band from Kerala that has been making music since 2012, built on one simple idea: stay raw, real and truthful. Their songs tell the stories of the common man, the joys and struggles of everyday life across the personal, social, spiritual and political. The writing refuses to sit in one genre, moving freely between alternative, folk rock, pop rock and ambient.

Fronted by James Thakara, the band features Sunil Silvester on guitars, Charles Nazareth on synth, John Shibin on bass and Ritwick Wilfy Bivera on drums. Thakara is a college-circuit favourite with a cult following on the festival scene, having played Alt 'n' Pepper, Mojo Rising, RockAtEase, Summer Tide, Home Festival and Indie Gaga, along with stages across Kerala, Bangalore and Chennai.

Live, Thakara is vocal-heavy and unpredictable. The set turns psychedelic one moment and rocks out the next, then lands on singalong favourites like "Puttu Paattu", "Podi Pennae", "Pravasi" and "Paadilla" with the crowd as the chorus. Where venues allow, custom LED visuals designed by the band bring each song's story to the screen. With recent releases "Kurumulaku", "Loop", "Mask" and "Rain Song", Thakara is ready for the rest of India to #GetThakarified.

Evrgr:n (Evergreen)

Evrgr:n is a Kochi-based rock band that began in 1998, when guitarist Sunil Silvester formed it with friends at just 19. Over more than two decades it has become a staple of India's rock scene, known for intense live shows and original music that blends bold riffs, deep lyrics and rich synth layers.

The band's studio album "Between and Beyond" was widely embraced, and their latest, "Chains", explores the forces that bind us and the restless search for freedom. Raw and unapologetic, Evrgr:n draws on each member's influences to create a sound that is heavy, layered and distinctly their own.

The lineup brings together founding members Sunil Silvester (guitar) and Arun Sasidharan (bass), with Syam Balakrishnan on guitar, Arun Roop on drums and Jeffin Joe Jacob on keys and production. Fronting them is Charles Nazareth, who first sang for the band after college, left to compose full-time for ads, films and series, and returned 15 years later to pick up the mic where it all began.

Charlie Now

Charles Nazareth is a singer, composer and shapeshifter. By day he composes music for ads and movies. By night he crawls out to front Evrgr:n as lead singer and play synth for Thakara.

Charlie Now is neither. It's Charles alone, performing songs written from his own melancholy, in the hope that they fill someone else's void. Multilingual and soulful, his music moves through indie, R&B and soul, stripped back and personal.
