About This Event
Metal Chennai returns with the second edition of Permanent Vacation, a night of live music celebrating independent artists and their originality.
Most independent musicians live a double life. They work jobs, meet deadlines, deal with responsibilities, and navigate the everyday grind, only to step away from it all when they pick up an instrument, step behind a mic, or walk onto a stage.
Music is their escape. Their Permanent Vacation.
On 29th August 2026, we head back to The Spotted Deer for another evening of original music, bringing together four distinct acts from Chennai's independent music scene.
The Siennor Trio
"Siennor Trio" is an art pop (/genre fluid) Tamil band from Chennai. The music revolves around core lyrical ideas, with spoken word, storytelling, extended instrument solos, improvisation, as well as contemporary classical instrumental pieces, which are largely a reflection of the self and society, ranging from powerful, adventurous dance numbers to melancholic and lazy pieces, touching through several human emotions and moods.
Blues Conscience
Blues Conscience is a 17-year-old blues trio from Chennai, bringing together influences from Buddy Guy and B.B. King to Eric Clapton and beyond. Known for their fun, high-energy performances, the band blends storytelling with the raw spirit of the blues. Their sets move between original music and reimagined covers, always with plenty of groove, soul and personality.
The Broadway Addicts
The Broadway Addicts have been kicking around for over a decade - sometimes asleep, sometimes screaming - in the lukewarm waters of Chennai’s music scene, they dodge, and occasionally headbutt the thin line between melody and glorious dissonance.
Srie’s BessyBop
Five musicians and one frontwoman, Srie, turning her original songs into music that confuses labels. Call it alt-pop, call it jazz-pop; it’s all built to make you bop.
