About the event -

Fast fashion is one of the most urgent environmental and cultural crises of our time and yet it rarely gets addressed at the community level in a way that is accessible, hands-on and genuinely engaging. This event is our attempt to change that in Chennai. It brings together three distinct formats under one roof, each designed to meet a different kind of participant.

'VAANGA PESLAM'

A moderated panel discussion on sustainable and slow fashion, bringing together designers, waste practitioners and cultural voices to discuss what conscious fashion actually means in an Indian context. Who bears the cost of fast fashion? What is the relationship between craft tradition and sustainability? This isn’t a lecture, it’s a conversation and the room is part of it.

'KATHRICOOL'

A hands-on visible mending session where participants bring a damaged garment and leave with something repaired and more interesting than before. Rooted in mending techniques, the workshop reframes repair as a creative act rather than a compromise. We are adding a patchwork and screen-printing station to the mix.

'FASHION KATCHI'

Hosting numerous eco-conscious, home grown brand pop-ups. India wasted will run a thrift store curated by Noolu Collective. Snacks & beverage available.

'ATTI CULTURE'

The rappers of Atti Culture - Kelithee and Vaasi are about to drop some fresh beats - stay hooked.
